A long-running and well-respected Sunshine Coast legal practice has welcomed a new director – and with it a change of name.

Bakers Lawyers, which was started by founder and director Chris Baker in 2001, has announced that Lucy Jorgensen has become a co-director of the firm.

Mr Baker boasts an impressive 23-year tenure as the firm’s director, making him one of the longest-standing sole practitioners on the Coast.

He has been a stalwart in the Sunshine Coast legal community since, garnering immense respect for his expertise and dedication in the legal field.

With the addition of Ms Jorgensen as a co-director from February 1, the Maroochydore-based firm will now be known as Baker Jorgensen Lawyers.

Ms Jorgensen joined Bakers Lawyers as a solicitor in mid-2016 and quickly became an invaluable asset to the team.

“In her role as co-director, Lucy leads our property and commercial team, bringing her extensive experience to the forefront,” Mr Baker said.

“Her expertise encompasses the acquisition and sale of commercial, industrial, retail and residential properties, businesses and companies.

“Lucy excels in leasing matters and her proficiency also extends to advising on strata titling, body corporate affairs, flat land subdivisions and titling matters.

“Her strategic approach and commitment to client success makes her an invaluable leader within the organisation.”

Mr Baker said the team at Baker Jorgensen Lawyers was excited about the future and the opportunities the change brought.

“We are confident that under the joint leadership of Lucy and myself, our firm will continue to provide exceptional legal services and build upon the legacy we’ve established over the past two decades,” he said.

“We appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to serving you with the same dedication and excellence that you have come to expect from us.”
