A popular band is searching for new venues to accommodate them and their enthusiastic and growing fanbase.
Raw Ordio – a three-member unit with a distinctive sound – said they had no choice but to leave their monthly Sunday residency at The Dock, Mooloolaba.
The band’s DJ and producer Brett Gadenne said their gigs were essentially getting too big for the location.
“Our fans are Raw Ordio’s lifeblood and they love the music as much as we do so their safety and enjoyment are paramount to us,” he said.
“The sheer number and enthusiasm of our followers raised concerns from the owners of The Wharf, particularly regarding the potential for overcrowding at the venue and with all the exuberant dancing.
“Quite simply, none of us want people in the drink from dancing too hard at Mooloolaba Marina.”
The band has appeared at major events like Splendour in the Grass, Pranafest, Elements Festival, Earth Frequency, Caloundra Music Festival and NZ Spirit Fest, but they still call the Sunshine Coast home, which means they have no interest in relocating further afield.
“So, Raw Ordio are on the hunt for new venues to host our Sunday Sessions, which can better accommodate everyone who wishes to come and enjoy deep electronic grooves intertwined with mashups of classic remixes,” Mr Gadenne said.
He said the move opened exciting new opportunities and the band was looking forward to an upcoming summer season already filled with booked shows.
“Raw Ordio is excited to announce our collaboration with the Flow State Experience, unveiling the inaugural Noosa NYE Experience, which promises to be an unforgettable afternoon and evening filled with quality music, camaraderie and joy,” he said.
“Featuring alongside a lineup of live artists and DJs, we couldn’t think of a better way to welcome in the new year and celebrate what has been an incredible 2023 with our fans, old and new.”
