Lotto players on the Sunshine Coast are being urged to check their tickets, after a local store syndicate pocketed a $2 million prize over the weekend.

The store syndicate held one of the 15 division one-winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4375 on Saturday.

In addition to scoring division one, the syndicate’s System 8 QuickPick entry also scored division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering the group’s total windfall to $2,011,125.05.

Each of the seven syndicate members receives a share worth $287,303.58.

However, some syndicate members may have yet to discover their winning news, prompting lottery officials to encourage players in the region to check their tickets.

Entries into the winning store syndicate were sold at Cotton Tree News, 1/9 King Street, Maroochydore.

“We know some of these division one-winning syndicate members have already begun celebrating their good fortune and are kickstarting the new week knowing they have a hefty boost coming into their bank accounts,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.

“However, others are starting their working week completely oblivious to their win. Previous syndicate winners have told us there’s no better cure for Mondayitis than discovering a Saturday Gold Lotto win.

“If you purchased a share into a syndicate for the recent Saturday Gold Lotto draw, check it today. If you discover you’re holding a winning share, call The Lott on 131 868 to start the prize claim process.”

The winning numbers were 4, 30, 21, 37, 29 and 8, while the supplementary numbers were 45 and 38.

Across Australia, there were 15 division one-winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4375 – six each from Queensland and New South Wales, two from Victoria and one from Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one-winning tally has now reached 207 so far in 2023.

In 2022, Saturday Gold Lotto created 171 millionaires across Australia. During this time, there were 330 division one-winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $456.6 million.

In 2022, more than 135.3 million winners took home more than $4.14 billion in prize money from games at The Lott, including Saturday Gold Lotto, Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno, Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s Official Lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
