A premium apartment along one of the Sunshine Coast’s most distinctive beachfronts has changed hands for a hefty price.

No. 2/54 Parkyn Parade sold for $5.8 million, which is believed to be a new record for a unit along Mooloolaba Spit.

The residence, known as The Beach House, occupies an entire floor within an exclusive boutique building of three apartments.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home spans about 275sqm and offers direct beach access, a private lift foyer and overlooks Mooloolaba Beach.

Whisker Coastal Property Principal and selling agent Grant Whisker said the result reflected the continued strength of demand for premium, tightly-held property in Mooloolaba.

“Properties of this calibre are incredibly rare, particularly along Parkyn Parade,” he said.

“Buyers recognise that there is only a very limited number of genuine beachfront residences on the Spit and, when something special becomes available, we continue to see very strong interest.

“This sale is an outstanding result for our sellers and sets a new benchmark for apartment values in this part of Mooloolaba.”

No. 2/54 Parkyn Parade.

It’s understood the price surpassed a previous record for an apartment in the area, set last year, when Whisker Coastal Property was involved in the sale of 8/52 Parkyn Parade: an impressive penthouse in the nearby building known as the ‘Cheese Wedge’ and ‘Cheese Block’ because of its distinctive shape.

Whisker Coastal Property stated that the Mooloolaba Spit has long been regarded as one of the Sunshine Coast’s most desirable coastal enclaves, with Parkyn Parade offering a unique combination of beachfront living, proximity to the Mooloolah River and marina, and easy access to Mooloolaba’s restaurants, cafes and retail precinct.
