Police are investigating a serious crash involving three Sunshine Coast men on the Bruce Highway.

Initial enquiries indicate that just before 6.40am, a red Mitsubishi Outlander collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Canter truck on the Black Swamp Creek Bridge south of Tiaro on Monday, July 27, just before 6.40am.

The impact of the crash caused the Canter truck to roll.

The driver of the Outlander, a 24-year-old Nirimba man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old Battery Hill man, and his passenger, a 43-year-old Little Mountain man, were uninjured.

The southbound lane of the highway was closed for five hours as investigations commenced and has since reopened.

Investigations are ongoing, anyone with information or relevant vision is urged to contact police.
