Police are investigating after a man was found dead in Nambour on Tuesday night.
Emergency services were called to a fire in a shed behind businesses on Howard Street about 6.56pm.
After firefighters extinguished the blaze, the body of a man was located inside the shed.
Forensic testing is underway to confirm the identity of the deceased, but it is believed to be a man in his sixties who police said was residing in the shed.
A crime scene has been declared.
In a separate incident, police have charged an Image Flat man after allegedly recovering a stolen box trailer and investigating the theft of diesel fuel on the Sunshine Coast.
Police allege a box trailer was stolen from Murdering Creek Road at Peregian Beach on July 9, before a jerry can containing diesel fuel was allegedly stolen from a vehicle at a service station on Elizabeth Street, Kenilworth, on Monday.
Following investigations, officers intercepted a vehicle on Boyle Road at Gheerulla about 1.25pm on Monday. Police allege the vehicle was towing the stolen box trailer, which was recovered.
The 24-year-old Image Flat man has been charged with multiple offences, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter premises and commit an indictable offence.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 27.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the Nambour fire or stolen vehicles in the area to come forward.
