A major bank has reinforced its commitment to a Sunshine Coast town and face-to-face services by unveiling a renovated branch.

CommBank has undertaken a $2 million revamp of an outlet in Caloundra, to bring everyday banking, small business support and specialist services together under one roof.

It comes as bank branches close across the country, including on the Sunshine Coast, largely due to the rise of digital banking.

Designed to be modern, accessible and customer-focused, the branch brings together digital, phone and in-person banking services, designed to give customers flexibility in how they choose to bank.

The upgraded layout includes dedicated spaces for private conversations, helping customers access tailored support during important financial moments.

Customers can connect with experienced bankers and specialist teams, including home lending experts, to receive guidance and support.

CommBank Sunshine Coast and Central Coast area manager Lynette Vickers said it was important for the branch to provide key services.

“Our Caloundra team has strong connections to the local Sunshine Coast community, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of,” she said.

“Every day, we help customers through important moments in their lives, whether they’re buying a home, growing a business or planning for the future. We know our customers value choice in how they bank. While many enjoy the convenience of digital banking, they also appreciate having local people they can speak to when it comes to important financial decisions.

“This new space gives our team even more opportunities to connect with customers, have meaningful conversations and provide the support that helps them feel confident about what’s ahead.”

CommBank has closed some branches in the region in recent years. However, the renewed Caloundra office is part of the bank’s broader commitment to upgrade its metropolitan and regional branch network.
