A Greek-inspired takeaway business owned by a local couple is expanding into a new beachfront development.
Urban Lamb will open a second store at Shop 7 in Bask Bokarina, adding to its existing Buddina outlet, which launched in 2022.
The new site is in the final stages of construction, with practical completion and handover expected in August.
“Once we take possession of the site, we’ll begin the fit-out process,” co-founder Ben Dickens said.
“We’re working towards welcoming customers towards the end of this year, while acknowledging there can be variables with construction and fit-out timelines.”
At this stage, no artist impressions or final design concepts have been released, but the owners said the new venue will closely reflect the Buddina store.
Co-founder Katrina Dickens said, “Our goal is to maintain the same look and feel customers know from Buddina, as we believe it’s important to keep our brand identity strong and consistent”.
“There will be subtle design and layout differences to suit the space and reflect the local area, but the overall experience will remain distinctly the same.”

The takeaway-focused model will also remain unchanged, with the business continuing to prioritise simplicity.
“We strongly believe in focusing on one thing and doing it exceptionally well,” Ms Dickens said.
“Customers can expect the same experience, quality and service across both locations.”

The couple said a simple menu, strong team culture and community connection had been central to their growth.
“Starting and sustaining a small business in today’s climate is incredibly challenging, so we feel truly grateful to be in a position where we can expand to a second location,” they said.
“Community is also at the heart of what we do. We’re not chasing trends or trying to go viral. We’ve focused on building genuine relationships with our customers.”

After searching for the right location for a second store, Mr Dickens said Bokarina consistently stood out.
“Bokarina has quickly established itself as one of the Sunshine Coast’s premier food and lifestyle destinations, with people travelling from across the region to experience the variety of dining options on offer,” he said.
“It offers a strong local community, a growing population and a food culture that aligns with our focus on quality, consistency and customer experience.”
The precinct is home to a growing number of venues, including Bocca, Playa Mexican, Stoa, Hatched, Wallace & Wood, and Tutto Freddo.
“We’re excited to become part of the precinct and contribute to the vibrant food scene that has developed in the area,” Mr Dickens said.
