A club’s ongoing revival reached a key moment last week, with new facilities officially unveiled.

Club Mooloolaba, one of the region’s leading bowls and community clubs, formally opened its new $450,000 undercover bowling greens on Saturday.

The upgrade, completed by Bioscapes Group, has transformed ageing 15-year-old surfaces into state-of-the-art undercover carpet greens..

Combined with the existing undercover roof structure and modern LED lighting system, the new greens will provide year-round bowling in all weather conditions.

The works are part of a revamp at the club as it recovers from tough times.

In addition to the new greens, Club Mooloolaba features an outdoor barefoot bowls green and has continued to expand and modernise its overall venue offering, including the evolving East West Bistro dining experience, gaming machines, live entertainment and events, and indoor-outdoor function spaces.

The new undercover greens are expected to drive growth in bowling membership, social and barefoot bowls participation, corporate functions and year-round competitions.

Mooloolaba Bowls Club president Mary Tanis said the greens upgrade represented an exciting new era for the club.

“This investment is about creating a modern, vibrant club that appeals to everyone, from serious bowlers through to barefoot bowls groups, families and visitors looking for a great social experience,” she said.

“The new greens have elevated Mooloolaba Bowls Club into the top tier of lawn bowling facilities in Australia.”
