A utility caught fire on the Bruce Highway in peak-hour traffic, causing delays for motorists.
The incident, involving a Ford Ranger, occurred on the northbound stretch at Tanawha at about 8.30am.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson detailed the situation.
“The vehicle was well involved. We had one crew attend, and a second crew briefly. They were on the scene from 8.50am and the fire was extinguished just after 9am.”
He said traffic was impacted.
“It was blocking the Bruce Highway: it was closed for a period of time.”

It’s not known what caused the blaze.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said no-one was hurt.
“Police attended an incident at Tanawha this morning, following reports a vehicle was on fire.”
“Around 8.30am, emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway, where an orange Ford Ranger was fully engulfed.”
Officers assisted with traffic control and the fire was deemed non-suspicious.
“No injuries were reported.”
Commuter Ben Beaden was on his way to work when he witnessed the incident.
“The sole occupant (of the Ford Ranger) successfully stopped the vehicle on the shoulder and escaped,” he said.
“Northbound traffic was delayed while emergency services attended and extinguished the blaze.”
