A man has been charged following investigations into a police-involved shooting on the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday.
Officers were initially called about 11.40am to reports a white MG hatchback had crashed on the westbound lanes of the Sunshine Motorway in Sippy Downs.
It will be alleged the MG then fled the scene and continued to Nambour Connection Road, where the driver left the MG and entered a white Toyota Hilux.
Police located the Hilux on Woombye Palmwoods Road in Woombye a short time later.
It will be alleged a 32-year-old occupant got out of the vehicle and approached officers while armed with a gun, and was subsequently shot by police.
Medical assistance was immediately provided to the man by police before he was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
The 32-year-old North Arm man has been charged with multiple offences including five counts of serious assault police while armed, two counts each of unlawful possession of a weapon (revolver), going armed so as to cause fear, common assault and possess dangerous drug (methylamphetamine), and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and authority required to possess explosives (ammunition).
He is due to appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday.
