A major search is underway for a missing swimmer at Buddina Beach this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the stretch of coastline along Pacific Boulevard at Buddina about 4.15pm, following reports a swimmer had disappeared in the water.
Officers from the Queensland Police Service are coordinating the response, with Water Police, POLAIR and jet ski crews deployed offshore.
Surf life savers are also assisting with patrols along the beach and in the water.
Police have not released details about the swimmer, including age or gender.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen the swimmer or who has information that could assist to contact police.
The search is ongoing.
