Two rock climbers were rescued from Mount Beerwah after becoming stranded on a ridgeline.

Queensland Fire Department crews were called to Mount Beerwah Road in the Glass House Mountains at about 4.45pm on February 1, after reports that two experienced climbers had run out of water.

The pair — a man and a woman, both in their 20s — were located on ‘The Martian’ track on Mount Beerwah.

QFD said a coordinated rescue effort was launched, involving two technical rescue crews, drones, and the LifeFlight Rescue 511 helicopter.

The helicopter winched the climbers to safety just before 6.30pm.

Two QFD appliances were also placed on standby during the operation.

Queensland Ambulance Service assessed the pair at the scene and neither required transport or hospitalisation.
