Police have released images of three people they believe can assist with investigations into an assault on the Sunshine Coast.

Initial investigations indicate that on Saturday, December 20, at about 10.30pm, a man in his 60s was walking along Mooloolaba Esplanade, near the intersection of Venning Street, in Mooloolaba when he was approach by a group of three young males.

One of the males is alleged to have then assaulted the man, causing non-life-threatening head injuries.

The three males then allegedly fled the scene on foot.

Police have released images of three people who they believe could assist with investigations into the matter.

Officers are appealing to the group, or anyone with information regarding their identities, to get in touch.

Police have released these two images as they investigate an alleged assault.

Investigations remain ongoing.
