A local hospitality identity is teaming up with a renowned chef to deliver a dining experience that will help fund support for domestic violence victims.
Hope House Espresso founder Michael Foster and chef Craig Maloney, from multi-award-winning Airlie Beach restaurant La Tabella, are hosting two exclusive Italian degustation evenings on December 5 and 6.
Mr Foster said the partnership was a precursor to the duo opening a new Italian restaurant on the Sunshine Coast early next year.
He said the two degustation evenings, which will be held at Hope House in Alexandra Headland, would bring people together for a cause that matters deeply to the local community.
“We wanted to create a night that blends the joy of great food with the heart of community spirit,” he said.
“Hope House is doing extraordinary work to support women and families escaping the scourge of domestic violence and, by attending this event, guests aren’t just enjoying a beautiful evening of incredible food, they’re helping change lives.
“Craig has prepared an incredible menu which is a regional journey through Italy. Each course has been crafted from traditional ingredients sourced from local Italian-inspired vendors.
“We also have optional wine pairings to match each dish to its region of origin, creating a one-of-a-kind tasting experience.”

Hope House Espresso is a specialty coffee shop with all profits going to supporting women in crisis and struggling families.
The charity offers a safe, confidential environment for those in crisis, supporting victims with emergency housing, meals, clothing, counselling referrals, safety planning and ongoing case management. It also provides programs that help women rebuild their confidence, secure stable housing, and regain independence after trauma.
Mr Foster said demand for services continued to rise across the Sunshine Coast, especially during the forthcoming Christmas period when pressure surges for many local families.
“Hope House is constantly inundated for service support and we heavily rely on community support to ensure we can continue delivering protection and dignity to those who need it most,” he said.
