A woman has sustained serious head injuries after a single-vehicle traffic crash in Maroochydore last night.

Police investigations indicate about 11.35pm a black International Scout was travelling onto the Sunshine Motorway on-ramp, near Maroochy Boulevard, when the vehicle lost control and rolled.

The driver, a 30-year-old Mountain Creek man, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The sole passenger, a 35-year-old Maroochydore woman, sustained serious head injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital before being airlifted to Brisbane.

Police are appealing to anyone with information or relevant dashcam vision to come forward.
