A bold farm-to-plate restaurant is set to open at an estate on the Sunshine Coast.

The restaurant at Alsahwa Estate, on Rifle Range Road, in Palmwoods, will welcome patrons from June 27.

The Mediterranean-inspired venue, to be called Ethos, is led by hatted local chef Sophie Phipps, formerly of Spice Bar.

Ms Phipps said her menu celebrated fresh, seasonal ingredients, many of which are grown onsite in spray-free produce gardens or sourced from nearby producers.

“The restaurant is a reflection of our values: to tread lightly on the earth, support our community and nourish our guests with food grown in healthy soil,” she said.

“We’re cooking with intention, with produce that speaks for itself.”

The doors are about to open to the Restaurant at Alsahwa Estate.

Set among landscaped gardens, palm trees and wildflowers, the restaurant overlooks dams. The property was formerly known as Stonebridge Gardens before it changed hands last year, with the previous owners running the 12-hectare site since 1987.

Estate founder Jo Walker said the dining experience there was expected to set the tone for the vision of the estate.

The estate could become a regenerative agritourism venue where guests enjoy curated picnics, seasonal long lunches, weddings, pre-booked gatherings, workshops and immersive farm-to-plate experiences led by the Alsahwa team.

“We’ll be continuing to follow our ‘Mind. Body. Planet’ philosophy and look forward to sharing our wellness in nature and estate exchange events, as well as community conscious movie nights over the coming months,” Ms Walker said.

“We’re excited for the Sunshine Coast to discover Alsahwa Estate at Palmwoods and see it bloom in this botanic garden-like location.”

The estate is a short drive from sister property Fila Casablanca: a private retreat and farm stay in Verrierdale. Alsahwa Farm, which is not open to the public, is located in Doonan.

The restaurant will be open 11am to late on Wednesdays to Fridays, and 7am to late on weekends.
