A developer has launched its latest $200 million retirement community, with work set to begin later this year and expressions of interest for the first homes now open.
Stockland’s Halcyon Yandina will span a 17-hectare site between Steggalls Road and Brandons Road and is expected to take about four years to complete.
Homes in the resort-style community designed for over-50s are expected to be available for purchase from August, with the first home owners moving in by mid-2026.
Stockland project director Andrew Astorquia said the launch of the land-lease community marked a new chapter for the area.
“The launch of Halcyon Yandina follows years of careful planning and collaboration with Sunshine Coast Council and locals to create a vibrant community that complements its surroundings,” he said.
“We’re excited to now open expressions of interest and look forward to creating something truly special for the area.”

Works are expected to include pedestrian-friendly pathways linking the facility to the township, plus upgrades to local sewer, water and road infrastructure, and environmental rehabilitation and restoration.
“Halcyon Yandina will provide a connected and active community for those looking to make a rural escape,” Mr Astorquia said.
“The community is nestled between a beautiful natural backdrop and is surrounded by Yandina’s rich history and welcoming community.”

The application to build the facility, which was approved earlier this year, was the subject of much correspondence between the council and Stockland’s development team since it was lodged in late 2022, drawing a mixed response during a public notification period.
Yandina Bowls Club, which is located across from Halcyon Yandina, is also set to benefit via a significant upgrade supported by Stockland over the next four years.
Bowls club secretary Alex Blake welcomed the support from the developer, saying it would help secure the long-term future of the club while strengthening community ties.

“This sponsorship from Stockland is a real win-win – for us, for them and for the wider community,” he said.
“Thanks to their support we’ll be able to upgrade our club facilities – from lighting to fans to long-overdue new carpet and furniture – and make it an even more welcoming place for locals to come together.
“We’re incredibly proud to be a volunteer-run club and with these improvements we’ll be even better placed to serve the community and welcome a new generation of bowlers through our doors.”
Halcyon Yandina is expected to feature a range of resort-style facilities including a 25-metre lap pool, sauna, steam room and clubhouse featuring a gold-class-style cinema, games room and private dining spaces.
A creative hub will provide a library, workshop and arts studio, while outdoor spaces will foster connection with the natural surroundings.

All homes will achieve a minimum 7-star Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme rating.
