Two teenagers have been charged following a crash involving an alleged stolen car.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators on Friday charged a 16-year-old Caboolture boy and a 15-year-old Morayfield girl after a crash at Woombye about 8.45pm on May 7.

Investigations indicate a blue Toyota Corolla was travelling north on Nambour Connection Road and a white Suzuki Swift was travelling south when the two cars collided at the intersection with McKenzie Road.

The driver and passengers of the Suzuki were transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

It will be alleged the Toyota was stolen from a car park on Matthew Terrace in Caboolture and that the driver and passenger ran from the scene before police arrived.

Officers charged the teenagers with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The boy was also charged with one count each of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, unlicensed driving and driver fail to remain at scene. He is set to reappear in the Maroochydore Children’s Court on May 21.

The girl was dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Investigators thanked members of the public who assisted on the night and those who provided crucial anonymous information.
