A man has been charged after a protracted incident on the Sunshine Coast.
Police were called to a unit on University Way at Sippy Downs about 10.45pm on Tuesday to reports a man was allegedly armed with bladed weapons and making threats of violence.
The man was the sole occupant of the unit and the incident was contained to the unit.
Police, including negotiators, were in communication with the man throughout the incident until specialist police arrested the man about 10.05am on Wednesday.
No one was physically injured however the man was transported to hospital for assessment.
The 37-year-old Sippy Downs man has been charged with one count each of serious assault police officer whilst armed with a weapon, use a carriage service to make a threat to cause serious harm, use a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence, and wilful damage.
He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday.
