A Sunshine Coast cidery has announced the acquisition of a well-known Bundaberg brand.

Sunshine Coast Cider has taken over and started production of Cheeky Tiki Ciders, which was owned and operated by Zoe Young and Josh Phillips.

Owner and cider maker Martin Rellstab said his Sunshine Coast Cider was committed to preserving the taste of Cheeky Tiki.

The same grower from the Granite Belt will supply apples for production.

“We are dedicated to maintaining the distinctive flavours that Cheeky Tiki fans love,” he said.

“We are excited and honoured to continue the 10-year legacy of Josh and Zoe’s hard work and introduce Cheeky Tiki to new audiences.”

Cheeky Tiki Ciders gained a loyal following for their vibrant, tropical flavours and cheeky designs.

But Ms Young said they were ready to return to Western Australia to explore more opportunities.

“After 10 years in the industry, Josh and I have decided to close down the Cheeky Tiki business here in Bundaberg,” she said.

“It was a difficult decision to make, but we think now is the right time.

Zoe Young and Josh Phillips owned and operated Cheeky Tiki for a decade.

“We have new ventures we want to pursue back home in Perth.”

Cheeky Tiki Ciders will be available at Sunshine Coast Cider at Kunda Park and via its website.

They will also remain available at Dan Murphy’s stores, select BWS outlets and many independent venues and bottle shops in Queensland.
