The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a young girl to hospital, after she was stung by a jellyfish on K’Gari on Sunday morning.
It’s believed the young girl was on a camping holiday with her family.
RACQ LifeFlight issued a press release that stated that the RACQ LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor treated her for an allergic reaction to the jellyfish sting.
It’s unknown what type of jellyfish stung the young girl.
The rescue chopper landed on the western side of the island, just before 10am.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue pilot landed the helicopter on the beach adjacent to the girl’s campsite.
The Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were unable to reach the patient because of the tides.
She was flown to the Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
