Day of the Dead Festival
The Day of the Dead Festival marks the auspicious time of year when Mexican cultures gather to honour and celebrate their ancestors. This event at Nambour on Saturday, October 28, will feature the Mad Mariachi Band, as well as a DJ set, face painting with themes of flowers and skulls, entertainment and Mexican food and drink. Art in Nature – Sculpture Garden
Explore the diverse stone sculptures located within the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden on Saturday, October 28. Contemplate the various stone artworks and their expressions within the native garden setting. Learn more about the stories in stone and see the amazing result when art and nature are combined. The walk is suitable for adults. It will include walking on paved and gravel surfaces in the natural bush setting of the gardens. Please dress for the weather and a walk in the outdoors. The Hard Pressed Printers group from Caloundra Arts Centre Association presents Impressions: Exploring the Art of Printmaking. This exhibition at Kawana showcases a diverse range of printmaking techniques, including lino cut, etching, cyanotype, eco dye, screen print, collagraph, gelli print, monoprint and embossing.
