Known for its frozen yogurt, toppings and sauces displayed on a buffet-style bar, it allows its guest to create their own sweet masterpiece.

Think frozen yogurt flavours like coconut, chocolate and seasonal fruits topped with melted biscoff, chunky chocolate cookie cake or strawberry fruit pearls.

Yo-Chi has opened its doors at Maroochydore with hopes it will become the newest local hangout.

Located at Sunshine Plaza, it’s the fourth Queensland store for the Australian brand, which also opened on Noosa’s Hastings Street in 2022.

Yo-Chi head of marketing Lauren Lagos said she hoped the new store would provide the perfect excuse to stop off for a mid-shopping treat, late-night dessert run or post-cinema date night.

A Yo-Chi creation.

“We’re so excited to be able to share the Chi with Maroochydore residents and show them why so many around the country love our yogurts,” Ms Lagos told Sunshine Coast News.

“We hope that the new venue will be locals’ new favourite everyday hangout, whether it’s their post-shopping treat or a weekend activity for families and friends. We cannot wait to welcome them all.

“Yo-Chi is not your typical frozen yogurt service. What sets us apart is our promise to provide high-quality frozen yogurt flavours with a wide range of delicious toppings displayed on a buffet-style bar.

“Yo-Chi is all about everyone coming together in an environment with great energy and providing all ages to have the opportunity to create their own deliciousness.”

The opening coincides with the addition of half-coated Tiny Teddies for May. Each month Yo-Chi features a different product as part of its toppings, knows as the ‘special chi’.

Ms Lagos said this month’s edition would encourage guests to reminisce on their childhood memories a create a sense of the nostalgia and sweet goodness associated with Tiny Teddies.

Yo-Chi follows a weigh and pay format, meaning dessert lovers can swirl their frozen yogurt into a bowl and add their toppings before paying at the counter.

Yo-Chi Sunshine Plaza is located outside the food court and is open from 11am to 9pm daily.
