Two prominent community groups have come together to produce videos showcasing their suburb’s unique community spirit.

The Buderim War Memorial Community Association and Buderim Foundation launched the two videos at a special event at the Buderim War Memorial Hall last week.

The two organisations are now sharing a home in the Old Post Office Information Centre in Buderim and decided to collaborate to help get locals involved in a Community Spirit campaign.

“As part of this important campaign, we have had two videos produced to showcase Buderim’s unique community spirit and to point to ways people can become involved,” Buderim Foundation chair Rod McKinnon said.

BWMCA president Errol Richardson said that with the recent influx of people to the area, it was a great time for the organisations to highlight ways people could get involved in the community.

“In Buderim, we have a unique and special community, largely because of the way so many people choose to get involved in the many opportunities and events on offer,” he said.

Mr Richardson said the organisations were keen to share the videos – which were produced by local firm Reflected Image PRoductions – with their networks so their message could be spread far and wide.

The Community Spirit campaign will continue over coming months and includes a welcome sign at Buderim Mountain State School as well as new historical signage in the Old Post Office.
