UPDATED: Sunday, January 29, 1.50pm: Six people have been taken to hospital, following a multi-vehicle crash, reported on Steve Irwin Way at Landsborough at 10.59am.
Paramedics attended the scene before One person was taken to Nambour Hospital and five to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. No serious injuries were reported at the scene.
Saturday, January 28, 6pm: A man in his 50s has been taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries, after a hang-gliding incident near Maleny-Montville Road at Balmoral Ridge at 12.35pm.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew transported the man to hospital. It’s believed he crashed to the ground from about 15m.
The aeromedical crew was called into action at about 1pm and the pilot was able to land near the scene.
The medical team joined paramedics in treating the man for multiple injuries. He was then flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a stable condition.
Saturday, January 28, 2.40pm: Two people have been taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, one serious and one stable, after a single-vehicle rollover on Rainforest Drive at Meridan Plains at 1.11pm.
Saturday, January 28, 1.20pm: A person was taken to Nambour Hospital with chest and shoulder injuries after a fall from mountain bike on Kennedys Road at Pomona at 11.15am. The person was in a stable condition.
Saturday, January 28, 1.20pm: A person with a leg injury was taken to to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a fall from a motorcycle on the corner of Coral Street and Myrtle Street at Maleny on 10.21am. The person was in a stable condition.
Friday, January 27, 5.40pm: A person was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, after a two-vehicle crash on University Way at Sippy Downs at 3.07pm.
Friday, January 27, 1.30pm: A patient with chest pain was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Caloundra Road at Caloundra West. The person was in a stable condition. The crash occurred about 11.40am on Friday.
Friday, January 27, 10.30am:Â A person was transported to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition after a single-vehicle rollover on Diddillibah Road, Diddillibah, at 8.51am on Friday.
Friday, January 27, 5.10am: Muggy conditions and a possible storm are expected on Friday. The temperature should range from 22 to 31 degrees Celsius and the dew point could exceed an uncomfortable 24 degrees Celsius. There’s the slight chance of a shower and the chance of a thunderstorm during the afternoon and evening, possibly severe.
Friday, January 27, 5am: Paramedics responded to a reported immersion incident at Inskip Point Road at 5.25pm on Thursday. The rescue helicopter transported a stable patient to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Thursday, January 26, 6am: Paramedics transported a patient in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a reported snake bite at Conondale at 9.16pm on Wednesday.
Thursday, January 26, 6am: Two people were assessed, with one being transported to Nambour Hospital, after a two-vehicle incident at the intersection of Coronation Avenue and National Park Road, Nambour, at 8.25pm on Wednesday.
Wednesday, January 25, 9.30pm: Paramedics took a person to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, after a motorcycle crash on Forestry Road at Landsborough at 3.21pm.
Wednesday, January 25, 9.30pm: Paramedics transported one stable patient to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on David Low Way at Marcoola at 12.19pm.
Wednesday, January 25, 11.30am: The search for a 21-year-old man missing off the coast of Teewah Beach will be scaled down on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to reports of a swimmer who came into trouble, just after 5pm on January 21.
A large scale land, water and aerial search was immediately launched utilising police, water police, POLAIR helicopter, SLSQ vessels, drone and helicopter and a community helicopter, which continued until Tuesday.
Search efforts will be scaled down, with police investigations into the man’s disappearance ongoing.
POLAIR and other police assets will continue to search the area when possible.
Police remain in contact with and are providing support to the family of the man.
Anyone with information is urged to immediately call Triple Zero (000).
Wednesday, January 25, 9.30am: A patient has been taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after a fall from a bicycle on Taylor Avenue, Golden Beach, at 8.26am on Wednesday.
Wednesday, January 25, 5am: The Sunshine Coast is set for a spell of hot weather, with daily maximum temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius or more on six straight days. The daily minimum should be about 21-22 and the maximum should be about 30 to 32, but the apparent temperature or ‘feels like’ should be significantly higher. There’s a slight chance of storms.
Tuesday, January 24, 1pm: Paramedics transported a patient to Nambour Hospital after a reported snake bite at a private residence at Lake Macdonald at 11.52am on Tuesday.
Tuesday, January 24, 11am: The search continues for a man off the coast of Teewah Beach.
Police and Surf Life Saving Queensland resources, including a drone, jet skis and Polair (police helicopter) are being utilised in the search.
The 21-year-old man was reported missing just after 5pm on Saturday.
Monday, January 23, 1pm: Detectives from Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch have released CCTV in an appeal for information in relation to five break-and-enters on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, January 22.
Shortly before 2.30am, a group of three people smashed the front window of a business on Poinciana Avenue in Tewantin. They were unsuccessful in gaining entry to the business and left the scene in a white Volvo XC40 hatchback.
About 2.50am, the same group used an axe to smash the windows of a Birtwill Street business at Coolum Beach. They were unsuccessful in gaining access to locked cupboards.
Shortly after 3am, the trio smashed the front doors of a King Street business at Buderim and stole a quantity of tobacco products.
About 3.40am, the group attempted to gain entry to a business on Mill Road in Buderim but were unsuccessful.
The white Volvo was found burnt out in a car park on Lady Musgrave Drive at Mountain Creek about 4am.
Initial investigations indicate the incidents are linked.
Police have released CCTV of three people who may be able to assist with investigations.

Monday, January 23, 12.30pm: The hunt for a 3m saltwater crocodile off Brisbane has been scaled back, with wildlife officers unable to find evidence of the marine reptile.
The search was sparked after a mysterious creature was spotted by a local Quandamooka man leading a kayak tour on North Stradbroke Island, also known as Minjerribah.
Rangers and wildlife officers scoured the area using boats, helicopters and drones to no avail, unable to confirm the presence of a crocodile.
Saltwater crocodiles are not endemic to Queensland’s heavily-populated south, with their most southerly verified range ending at Hervey Bay.
The last confirmed crocodile in the wild in the southeast was a 3.83m animal, shot dead by locals at Logan Village on the Logan River in 1905.

Monday, January 23, 9am: Police and Surf Life Saving Queensland are continuing a search operation today for a missing 21-year-old man, who came into trouble in waters off Teewah Beach, Noosa North Shore, just after 5pm on Saturday.
Monday, January 23, 8.05am: A woman has died after she was pulled from the surf at Happy Valley on Sunday afternoon. A Queensland Police spokesperson said the 27-year-old woman from Zillmere was pulled unconscious from the water after 3pm. Attempts were made to revive her. Paramedics, lifesavers and police were on scene.
Monday, January 23, 6.30am: Paramedics transported a man in his 60s in a stable condition to Buderim Hospital for a suspected snake bite on the leg, reported at a private residence at Buderim at 7.36pm on Sunday.
Monday, January 23, 6.30am:Â The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight helicopter crew transported a man to hospital after he was injured in a quad-bike crash on Sunday afternoon.
It’s believed the man, in his 70s, had been riding the vehicle on a rural property northeast of Gympie when the crash occurred.
Due to the hilly terrain, local Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the patient for several injuries before transporting him to the helicopter.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic stabilised the man and he was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Sunday, January 22, 6pm: Paramedics were at the scene of a near-drowning reported at Bulcock Beach, Caloundra, at 3.45pm on Sunday.
Saturday, January 21, 6.30pm: A person was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, after a vehicle and motorcycle crash was reported on Neill Road at Mooloolah Valley at 4.07pm.
Saturday, January 21, 7.30am: A church at Buderim has been substantially damaged by a fire on Friday night.
It is understood it is the Lifepointe Baptist Church that has been affected.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said about eight fire crews attended the church on Wises Road about 11.20pm.
About 60 per cent of the structure was involved.
The fire was brought under control by 12.55am on Saturday. It was fully extinguished by 4.30am.
The spokesman said there was “substantial damage to the rear of the premises” and that a fire investigator would attend the scene on Saturday morning.
Police also attended the scene. A spokesperson said the cause of fire was unknown at this stage and investigations were ongoing.
Paramedics responded but no patients required assessment or transport.
