More than 350 competitors and up to 25,000 people are expected to converge at Noosa Heads for the 31st running of the festival, which runs until March 13.

The event, presented by the Noosa Malibu Club and World Surfaris, is expected to generate $6-7 million for the local economy.

Most importantly, though, it generates joy.

Capturing the event’s essence is Dave Gleeson of SurfShots Photography.
