Sunshine Coast brides don’t have to look far to get married in Australia’s best licensed venue with serene waterfront views.

The Caloundra Power Boat Club has won the Best Wedding Venue in a Licensed Club in Australia title at the 2021 Australian Wedding Awards.

Despite the challenges of COVID restrictions, the venue on the passage at Golden Beach was chosen as the best in the country.

The award is the latest in five years of accolades, including for the past four years winning the Bride’s Choice Awards in a Licensed Club category for the Sunshine Coast & Hinterland.

Operations manager Shane Anderson said the Caloundra Power Boat Club’s number one focus was meeting the needs of its patrons.

He said the team worked overtime to meet the challenges of COVID while providing the best service to its clients.

“In particular the club has a dedicated functions team, led by functions manager Priscilla Wilcox, which focuses on providing an easy, care-free service to our function clients,” Mr Anderson said.

“Of course the club has a waterfront view that enhances the enjoyment of its clients and provides a very special background for that very special wedding day,” he said.

Ms Wilcox said the functions team went out of its way to make every bride’s day as special as it could be.

“Everything is in the one place.  We have an outdoor waterfront gazebo for ceremonies, multiple function rooms for receptions overlooking Pumicestone Passage and an abundance of accommodation options within walking distance,” Ms Wilcox said.
