Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson has reflected on the region’s achievements, despite challenges, in his 2021 State Of Our Region Address.

He provided an update on the progress of the region’s recovery from COVID-19 and highlighted achievements, key projects and programs that council delivered during 2021.

“The past 12 months have been among the most extraordinary I’ve seen in my nearly 10 years in local government,” he said.

“It was memorable in so many ways, from the historic announcement that Brisbane and South-East Queensland will host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to the emotional, financial and social rollercoaster of managing through and recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Despite all of the challenges the pandemic has thrown our way, the Sunshine Coast has a lot to be proud of and a lot to look forward to.”
