A group of talented students are exhibiting art works at the Maroochy Botanic Gardens art gallery during the school holidays.

Pacific Lutheran College students took on the challenge to create a sense of wonder and awe through the pieces they produced.

Head of Department – Art, Denise McMahon, said Year 8 students had the opportunity to  draw animals found at the gardens and to reflect on their colours, habitat and food.

“Collaborating with local abstract comics artist Dr Kym Tabulo, Year 11 and 12 students also produced their own gallery comics, inspired by their visit to Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve,” she said.

“Each artwork encourages people to consider their own connections to nature and its benefits for their future,” Mrs McMahon said.

Each artwork encourages people to consider their own connections to nature.

The artworks are on display at the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens art gallery in Tanawha.
