A well-known local human resources business has been acquired by another prominent local firm, seeing it become the largest outsourced HR and recruitment provider on the Sunshine Coast.

Maroochydore-based HRM Contracting and Consulting has acquired Suncoast HR, with HRM director Sally Desch saying she was pleased to have acquired such a well-known and reputable business.

“Suncoast HR was founded in 2015 and over the years the business has serviced over 300 separate clients with the majority based on the Sunshine Coast,” she said.

“When the opportunity came up to secure the business we knew it was an opportunity we could not pass up.

“It’s certainly strengthened our business resilience and we’re proud to hold the mantle as the largest human resource and recruitment firm on the Sunshine Coast.

“With more staff and resources, we will now be able to take on more clients and we will be offering the services which Suncoast offered which were not on our radar.”

Multi-award-winning HRM was established by Ms Desch in 2005 and has grown to employ eight staff.

HRM supports a number of community organisations including SunnyKids, Coast2Bay Housing and several local charities. In 2019 and 2021 it won its category at the Sunshine Coast Business Awards.

“Our business has been incredibly busy and it went to another level when the pandemic hit and resulted in labour shortages across a range of industries. With Covid hopefully behind us we’re continuing to see strong growth,” Ms Desch said.

“Now more than ever, people are the biggest commodity for businesses and we can assist with engaging, managing and optimising teams.

“Our significant growth over the years has allowed us to build long-lasting relationships with many local businesses and key industry players while maintaining a high standard of service and care typically associated with smaller agencies.”
