A Sunshine Coast woman has returned from holidays to discover she has become a multimillionaire.

The Baringa woman was the only division one winner in the Set for Life draw 2646, which was drawn on Thursday, November 3.

She will receive $4.8m, in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.

“I can’t believe, comprehend or fathom this,” she said.

Her experience was a reminder for others to double check their tickets.

“I’ve been away from home on an overdue holiday with my husband,” she said.

“While we were away, we saw a story in the local newspaper about an unregistered entry winning division one in Set for Life.

“My husband said to me, ‘Did you happen to buy a ticket in Set for Life draw 2646?’ and I said, ‘Of course, I’ve got a ticket!’.

“We both looked up the winning numbers online, and we thought I didn’t win at first.

“It wasn’t until we came back home and went to the local newsagency to confirm the news that we realised our life had changed forever. It’s unbelievable.

“Funnily enough, I was emotionless for quite some time because it happened all so suddenly. It’s such a life-changing event and you never expect to win big.

“Once it all hit me, I shed a few tears, and my husband and I sat down together and discussed all the things we could do with $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

“Set for Life has always been my go-to lottery game and I’m grateful it has set my family and I up for the future.

“A new home for my husband and I is a definite. Then, we will look at some properties for our children.

“We never thought we would be able to travel overseas but now we can book some family holidays.

“My husband is going to continue working because that’s in his nature but I’ll look at working less hours.

“We will see where the next 20 years takes us. It’s crazy.”

Her winning entry was purchased at TSG & Lotto Baringa.

Store manager Caitlin Badke said her team couldn’t be happier to have sold a division one winning entry to a local.

“It’s our first division one winning entry since opening the store in August 2019, so we’re completely over the moon,” she said.

“We’re only a small store in a new area on the Sunshine Coast. It’s no surprise this division one winning entry has built up a lot of excitement in the last few days.

“Our customers have told us from time to time that they’ll be our first division one winner, so it’s great to have finally sold one and even better to see it go to a regular customer.

“A massive congratulations to the winning woman. We’re so pleased to have helped a local woman, and we wish them all the best with their prize.

The winning numbers were 26, 1, 19, 31, 33, 12, and 38, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 24.

It followed a $1.5m Gold Lotto win on the Sunshine Coast earlier this month.
