Sunshine Coast Art Prize Exhibition 2022
The acquisitive Sunshine Coast Art Prize is a dynamic visual arts award reflecting outstanding contemporary 2D arts practice in Australia. Now in its 17th year, the exhibition presents the remarkable finalist works by established and emerging artists from across the country. Presented in partnership with Horizon Festival.

Wildflowers of the Botanic Gardens
Wild Flowers of the Botanic Gardens is a photographic exhibition featuring images taken in the gardens by professional photographer and regular volunteer Greg Miller. It will be accompanied by guided walks and information locating many of the plants within the gardens, so visitors can appreciate the featured plants along with others on display, and hopefully become inspired to obtain more of them to grow.
When: Thursday, September 1 to Sunday, September 11.

Jazz and Blues Collective: Slips & The Flamin’ Whippersnapper’s (F.W’S)
Slips & The F.W.’s is an eclectic collection of musicians from the Gold Coast and Brisbane who love to reignite the spark and charm of old time blues, jazz, swing and ragtime tunes from the 1920s and 1930s. Taking influences from Clarence Williams, Blind Boy Fuller and Spencer Williams to name a few, Slips & The F.W.’s thrive on performing classic numbers and originals in their own way bringing a taste of New Orleans wherever they roam.

Edgewater Village Spring Fair
Come and visit Edgewater Village as it’s transformed into a fabulous marketplace with many stall holders displaying their wares, including homemade produce, craft, trash and treasure, books, knick knacks, plants, clothing to name just a few. There will be a raffle, barbecue serving breakfast burgers and hot dogs, and a very tasty morning tea. The wonderful Bli Bli School Choirs will be there, together with the Edgewater Singers to entertain you – they are always a feature of the morning’s activities.

Take a Kid Fishing DayÂ
Take a Kid Fishing Day is the major community event for the Caloundra Power Boat Club Fishing Club. This popular junior angling attracts more than 100 keen young anglers every year. All children must be accompanied by an adult and are permitted to fish from a boat, beach or shoreline. The kids receive sample bags upon registration and feast on a free sausage sizzle later in the morning, before major prizes for the longest whiting, bream and flathead are awarded.

Currimundi Special School Charity Race Day
Steve Venn from Blue Moon Property proudly presents the Charity Race Day for Currimundi Special School. The day includes a two-course gourmet luncheon, premium drinks package and an afternoon of fun, fashion, fine dining, friends and fundraising for a great cause.

BIGSOUND Eumundi Party
The BIGSOUND Music Festival may in Brisbane but the post-BIGSOUND party is in Eumundi! Come along to The Bunker to catch three great acts, including Eastbound Buzz from Melbourne, Sam Windlay of Sydney and and the Sunshine Coast’s own Dorah Jackson, hot off the heels of their BIGSOUND shows. Dreamy indie artist Dorah delivers song-bird like vocals, accompanied by her unique guitar playing and the powerful sound of her band – forming her own stylings of indie, pop, and alt-rock. The performance is supported by Live Music Australia.
