Join fun-loving Beddy Rays

Behind the scenes in flight 

Local producer and performer Riley Cope is bringing his highly-acclaimed production of In Flight Entertainment back to the Sunshine Coast. The newly-revised show will bring back all the charm and glamour plus so much more, with the assistance of a talented local cast. In Flight Entertainment is a fun, risqué musical comedy for adults. This high-altitude cabaret will take the audience behind the scenes, into the turbulent lives of an aviation crew.

A celebration of women

Four women at a lingerie sale have nothing in common – except a black lace bra, memory loss, hot flushes, night sweats, not enough sex and too much sex. Inspired by a hot flush and a bottle of wine, Menopause the Musical is a celebration for women who are on the brink of, in the middle of or have survived ‘the change’. This sidesplitting musical parody – set to classic tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s will have audiences cheering and dancing in the aisles. Doggone Funny Festival 

That’s Not My Dog! The Festival showcases Australia’s funniest comics and entertainers working together in unique group sessions to outdo one another. With multiple stages and an action-packed schedule, there’ll be non-stop fun as festival-goers enjoy local beers, produce and some of Australia’s favourite gin, vodka and rum. Round out each day with a sensational performance from three of the nation’s greatest bands.

Singer-songwriter returns to hinterland

Following the sell-out success of her tour last year, singer-songwriter Emily Maguire is returning to the Sunshine Coast hinterland with a series of concerts. Known for her highly-emotive songs and spellbinding live performances, Emily is a contemporary folk artist who was plucked from obscurity by American legend Don McLean and toured all the major concert halls in the UK, including the Royal Albert Hall.  Emily has released six albums on Shaktu Records, the record label she set up with her husband Christian Dunham in 2004, which they originally financed by making and selling goats cheese on the family farm in the Obi Obi valley. Emily and Christian will perform as an acoustic duo on this tour.

Where and when: The Majestic Theatre, Pomona on Saturday, October 15 (7pm to 9pm), Eudlo Hall on Saturday, October 22 (7.30pm to 9.30pm) and Maleny Community Centre on Saturday, October 29 (7.30pm to 9.30pm).

Caravan and outdoor expo

The Let’s Go Sunshine Coast Caravan & Outdoor Expo is set to roll into town. This official caravan industry event will feature over 80 exhibitors showcasing the latest caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes and camping accessories. The expo is sure to be a must-attend outing for all caravanning enthusiasts. There will be free entertainment and
Caravanning Queensland’s Weight and Towing Masterclasses will again be a popular addition to this year’s Expo.

Celebrating inclusive communities 

A Fair Day Out is a celebration and contribution to building inclusive communities. Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to enjoy free creative performances and browse through more than 30 stalls of creative wares produced by people with disability. Since 2013, Equity Works has been the lead agency, and collaborates with many other local disability support organisations and individuals in bringing the event to life each year.

When: Saturday, September 10, 9am to 2pm.

Where: Eumundi Markets, Memorial Drive, Eumundi (amphitheatre end of the site).
