Thousands of people are set to get into the spirit of a new festival that celebrates diversity, inclusivity, creativity and sustainability.

Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Rangebow Festival, with major partner, Woombye distillery, Sunshine & Sons, helping to launch the four-day event.

The festival will be held at different locations at the Blackall Range, from August 10 to August 13.

‘Everybody Belongs’ is the mantra for the festival.

Director Wayne Purcell said there would be 30 events on the program, including the colourful Pageant of Pineapple Queens and Bunya Kings.

“The pageant offers individuals of different ages and abilities the opportunity to participate in drag performance workshops and then parade their creativity and flair on a runway in Maleny,” he said.

Matt Hobson, of Sunshine & Sons, was delighted to be involved.

“Our gin distillery proudly supports the local community in any way we can and to say we’re excited to introduce some extra spirit to the event would be an understatement,” he said.

The Enchanted Garden in the Village Green at Montville is set to be a family-favourite, while the cabaret and First Nations Gourmet Experience are certain to draw the crowds too.
