A group of senior school students have gained a unique and exciting insight into the tourism sector.

Year 11 and 12 social and community studies students from Noosa District State High visited Dreamworld, for an excursion to celebrate their hard work this year.

The students, who are finishing their unit on careers and workplaces, relished the trip to the Gold Coast theme park.

Interactions with Dreamworld staff members enabled them to learn first-hand how the pandemic had affected tourism in Queensland, job security in the sector and the importance of tourism to the state’s economy.

The excursion to Dreamworld was a memorable and fun day out for the students and staff involved.

Noosa High year 11 co-ordinator Bridge Muir with Panthers star Brian To’o.

They were pleased to find the theme park was not busy and consequently, there were minimal waits for rides, with the Tower of Terror and Pandemonium visited on numerous occasions.

Visiting NRL footballers were happy to pose with the students and teachers, with keen Panthers fan, Year 11 student Tammin Lange thrilled to meet two of her idols.

“I will be happy forever after this excursion,” she said.
