The Sunshine Coast’s three-day lockdown certainly didn’t slow the momentum of the local property market.

The majority of auctions saw properties either selling prior or under the hammer with some events postponed a week or so to accommodate interstate buyers.

As with our previous lockdown, auctions pivoted from being conducted on-site to online.

In comparison to late March 2020, this lockdown was a seamless transition as buyers and sellers surged forward with their property plans.

First cab off the rank was a sale conducted online with Jared Young from Nicholl & Young.

After all the buyers were informed of the logistics of bidding online, Lot 111 Abbotts Road, in the Panorama Palmwoods estate was set and ready to be sold.

Seven registered bidders were face to face, virtually, ready for the very public negotiation on the Zoom platform (pictured).

With the opening bidder articulating “bidder number 6, $300,000”, away they went in $5k and $10k increments all the way to $450,000, where the vacant land in the newly established estate was sold.

Feedback from the buyers after the fact was they loved the convenience and transparency of bidding online.

Marketing agent Jared Young was ecstatic with the result as he was preparing for his next online auction some 24 hours later.

Saturday we were back on-site with masks on and crowd sizes capped at 30 for 15 Franklin Place, Sippy Downs.

This was another seamless auction conducted by Bevan Horsnell & Brenden Southey from Prime Property.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home situated on 620m2 was well received by investors and homeowners alike in the university town.

With bidding all the way to $670,000, the seller gave the nod and the property was sold to local investors.

Peppers Resort Noosa Heads has been a favourite holiday destination for many Aussies and international guests wanting a slice of Noosa’s paradise.

As a result of its popularity, many investors love the idea of owning a holiday home and the yield that comes from it.

With six registered bidders all bidding over the phone, apartment 8409 was clearly favoured by intestate buyers.

Marketing agents Lauren Chen, Chris Miller and the team at Tom Offermann were firing in bids from all corners of the nation.

Surpassing the reserve quite dramatically, the property went on to sell for $1,285,000, making the other owners in the complex very happy indeed.

On their home turf, the team at Home Sunshine Coast took 32 Moondarra Crescent, Mooloolaba (pictured below), to market Sunday afternoon.

The refurbished family home was immaculate and ready for a new family to enjoy it and the auction was taken out on the street to accommodate the swelling crowd.

Bidding kicked in at $1 million and two other parties joined the contest, pushing the price to $1,475,000.

Through private discussions, the property was declared to be sold at $1,550,000. The buyers are relieved to end their search and the owners albeit happy with the sale now start the search for their new home.
