A popular festive season event is set to “go off” this year, with fireworks featuring in the program for the first time.

Sunshine Plaza’s annual Santa’s arrival celebration is ‘sleigh-ted’ for November 5 from 4.30pm, with the fireworks finale scheduled for 7.30pm.

The big man in red is due to arrive by boat along the riverwalk at 5pm.

He will lead a parade through the shopping centre to Santa’s Wonderland marking its official opening in centre court.

A Christmas disco featuring festive music, dancing and entertainment with Santa’s helpers will run from 4.30pm to 8pm.

Photography starts at 5.45pm and will operate until Christmas Eve offering traditional Santa photos and pet options too.

Sunshine Plaza marketing manager Bianca Price said Santa’s arrival had become an annual tradition for local families.

“There’s something really special about seeing the wonder on children’s faces as Santa makes his way along the riverwalk,” Ms Price said.

“It’s one of those Christmas moments that families look forward to sharing together each year.”
