A Sunshine Coast luxurious riverside residence has taken out the House of the Year Award at the 40th annual Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards.
The Mooloolaba home, known as Azura, was built by Tyson Building Group and was recognised with the Queensland Colorbond House of the Year Award at a black-tie ceremony held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Saturday.
The state-level recognition adds to an impressive run of awards for Azura, adding four more wins to its five-trophy haul from the Sunshine Coast Awards, with the home also winning Royale Cabinets Best Residential Kitchen, Best Residential Swimming Pool and Best Individual Home over $10 million.
The impressive property also collected seven honours on Friday night at the Housing Industry Association (HIA) Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay Awards, including Home of the Year.
The three-storey riverside residence features a dramatic roofline, curved architectural forms and a design that connects with the water’s edge. The home includes a sculptural staircase through the centre, a passenger lift and a basement built about 1.8m below high-tide level, housing a car lift, gym and cellar.
The award recognised the craftsmanship and construction behind the home, which was among projects celebrated for pushing the boundaries of design, quality and innovation.
Also recognised on the night was St Andrews Constructions, which took home the BUSSQ Building Super President’s Award for Babylon.

The Noosa Sound canal-front home required detailed planning and complex construction methods, including work below water level, to deliver features including a wine cellar and a media room designed to resemble an underground New York jazz bar.
Master Builders CEO and awards ambassador Sue-Ann Fresneda said the milestone event showcased the achievements of builders, tradespeople and industry professionals across Queensland.
“From stunning homes to world-class schools, hospitals and community infrastructure, our builders and tradies have fittingly pushed the boundaries of what was possible in this, the milestone 40th year of our Housing & Construction Awards program,” she said.

Ms Fresneda said the awards highlighted the ongoing work of people across the construction industry.
“Our 2026 celebrations have paid homage to the rich history of our prestigious Awards program, as well as honouring those shaping the industry today,” she said.
“Each home and project entered has set new benchmarks for construction quality, liveability and sustainability.
“Our individual category entrants ranged from fresh faces showing leadership beyond their years, to women smashing the glass ceiling, and rising stars setting the pace, spotlighting why our industry is such a great place to carve out a career.
“On behalf of Master Builders, congratulations to all our entrants and winners. Your outstanding achievements are a credit to you, and we are so honoured to share your journey. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next year.”
