A characterful beach shack has gone on the market for the first time in almost 70 years, ending a long family connection to the local area.
The 607sqm north-facing block at 4 Gothic Parade, Currimundi, was purchased by a Brisbane family through Henzells Agency in 1958, when the suburb was largely bushland and dirt tracks.
The family initially used the site for weekend camping and fishing before building the existing home in 1970.
Now, 68 years after the original purchase, the property is being offered again for sale through Henzells Agency, with agents Kristi Hawkins and Ally Bewley handling the campaign.
The property is located metres from Ballinger Beach and Currimundi Lake and is zoned medium density.
Ms Hawkins said the property’s history was unusual for the area.
“It’s not often you get the opportunity to sell a property with such strong ties to the local area,” she said.
“This has been a special place for one family for nearly 70 years, from those early camping trips when the area was bushland and dirt tracks, through to the highly sought after coastal destination Currimundi is today.
“It’s a wonderful piece of Caloundra’s past, and now someone else has the opportunity to create their own memories and write the next chapter.”

Ms Bewley said the zoning provided options for a future owner.
