A retirement complex is progressing its expansion with the release of a new collection of villas, alongside plans for a luxury community centre.
Maleny Grove is bringing 26 more homes to market amid strong demand for retirement living in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The release was officially launched by acclaimed journalist and Reside Communities ambassador Kay McGrath at a special event at Tiffany’s Maleny on Wednesday.
It follows a strong response to Stage 1, with buyers moving quickly to secure homes that are due to be delivered late this year.
Set across 5.7h of landscaped grounds on Palm Street, Maleny Grove was acquired by Reside Communities in 2024 and is undergoing a major revitalisation that will ultimately increase the precinct from 28 to 94 residences.
The community has been labelled high-end lifestyle and low-maintenance living, with a strong sense of connection.
Reside Communities CEO Glen Brown said the strong sales demonstrated the depth of demand from retirees wanting to remain in, or relocate to, the hinterland while downsizing to a new low-maintenance home.
“With only three homes remaining (from 25) in Stage 1, the response has reinforced what we have been hearing from buyers about the shortage of high-quality retirement living options in this part of the Sunshine Coast,” he said.
“Maleny is a very special place and people who have built their lives here understandably want the opportunity to stay in the area as they get older.
“At the same time, we are seeing buyers, attracted to the hinterland lifestyle, who want a beautiful new home, less maintenance and the opportunity to become part of an established and welcoming community.
“The response to Stage 1 has given us enormous confidence as we bring the next collection of homes to market.”
Stage 2 villas will be priced from $1.04m, with a selection of new two and three-bedroom designs revealed at the launch.
The event also provided the first detailed look at The Lodge, Maleny Grove’s new clubhouse due for completion in 2027.
The five-star facility will become the social and wellness heart of the expanded community, with plans including a heated indoor swimming pool, gym, cafe, bar, dining room, library and hair and beauty salon.

The launch included a panel discussion offering prospective buyers an insight into the vision for the revitalised Maleny Grove and featured Mr Brown alongside Reside Communities chief operating officer Craig Syphers, Five Good Friends commercial director Sam Carson and Thomson Adsett principal interior designer Katrina Miranda.
Mr Brown said the new homes and facilities were designed to complement Maleny Grove’s hinterland setting and the expectations of a new generation of retirees.
“This is about allowing people to downsize without compromising on the quality of their home or the lifestyle they enjoy,” he said.
“We’re creating contemporary, beautifully designed homes alongside facilities that encourage residents to stay active, connected and independent.
“Importantly, we are building on what is already here. Maleny Grove has a wonderful sense of community and our vision is to enhance that while creating more opportunities for people to call it home.”
Maleny Grove is located close to the Maleny town centre, with access to shops, cafes, supermarkets, health services, markets and the region’s walking trails and natural attractions.
The vast majority of buyers have been people from the Maleny area.
