The multimillion-dollar sale of a penthouse has reinforced the lure of a prominent point on the Sunshine Coast.
No. 15/1 Pacific Boulevard at Point Cartwright changed hands for $3.65 million in early July, after it attracted plenty of interest from Australia and abroad.
The split level home, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, boasts stunning views across the bay of Mooloolaba.
It’s within the 16-unit Eliza Towers: one of four landmark apartment buildings that dot the point and can be seen from miles away. The others are Cartwright (26 units), Breakwater (20), Mariner Point (17), and Point Cartwright (6).
Ray White Mooloolaba agent Ryan Bradeley said the penthouse was the subject of attention from “local downsizers, Brisbane-based professionals looking for a holiday home and expats from overseas”.
The residence, which was sold by an elderly couple who downsized into a smaller home, was ultimately bought by locals who were “moving from a large family home on the waterfront, looking for something with great views and low maintenance.”
Mr Bradeley said apartments along the strip were hard to come by.
“These properties are usually held generationally and rarely offered to open market,” he said.
“(They are) situated on top of Point Cartwright headland, offering panoramic views from the southern to northern coastline of the Sunshine Coast.”

He detailed why real estate in the area was so treasured.

When real estate there does become available, they attract plenty of attention despite a changing market.
“The property market on Point Cartwright and the Buddina suburb as a whole remains fairly strong dispute lots of outside noise,” Mr Bradeley said.
“A lot of buyers are lifestyle based and are usually buying for what the area has to offer. At the end of the day great properties in great locations with genuine sellers always sell well.”
