A Sunshine Coast surf park is set to partner with a specialist company to advance the project, with work expected to start later this year.

Surf Farm and Global Shred Ventures have signed a memorandum of understanding to progress development and equity arrangements.

The MOU is a milestone in delivering the venue at Glenview, near the Glass House Mountains.

Surf Farm is expected to combine premium surf experiences with food and beverage, retail and wellness offerings, creating a destination for locals and tourists. The facility could feature a Wavegarden Cove lagoon configured with 62 modules, delivering the equal largest range of programmable wave settings in the southern hemisphere.

Global Shred Ventures is a specialist development and operating company focused on next-generation surf, snow, and action-sports destinations worldwide. The company has more than 20 years of experience across surf park development, destination planning, construction delivery, and operations.

GSV executive chairman Adam Lamond said that, as the development partner and equity participant, GSV will help oversee project delivery and long-term operational strategy, drawing on its international experience in surf and experience-based leisure assets.

“We are delighted to partner with Surf Farm to finalise participation arrangements as both development and equity partner,” he said.

“This project aligns strongly with GSV’s strategy of delivering high-quality, community-focused surf destinations that create long-term economic and social value.

“Surf Farm represents an exceptional opportunity within one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.

“The partnership will also mark a renewed collaboration between GSV and Wavegarden, following previous international engagements.

“We are looking forward to working with the Wavegarden team as their proven technology and operational reliability provide a strong foundation for building a flagship surf destination on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Surf Farm is currently progressing through detailed engineering and technical coordination ahead of a planned ground break later this year.

Surf Farm director Chris Salmon said the partnership with GSV was expected to be finalised during the next few months and will position the project for delivery.

“Working with GSV as a development and equity partner significantly strengthens Surf Farm’s pathway to construction,” he said.

“Our vision is to create a world-class wave pool destination that celebrates the joy of surfing offering something for both surfers and non-surfers alike.

“We are confident the project will strongly contribute to regional tourism, lifestyle and broad community engagement.”
