A man has died after a truck reportedly crashed into a tree on the Sunshine Coast.

Police and emergency services were called to Steve Irwin Way at Iona Road at Beerburrum on Thursday, at about 10.45am.

Upon arrival, crews freed the driver and a passenger who were stuck in the cab.

Emergency services performed first aid on the driver, a 24-year-old Bald Hills man, however he was declared deceased at the scene.

The passenger, a 21-year-old Silkstone man was flown to hospital in a stable condition.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.

Steve Irwin Way was closed in both directions following the crash. All lanes have since reopened.
