A luxury apartment development has attracted the attention of buyers from around the country as works start on the project.

Units at Lago, in Birtinya, have garnered more than $16 million in sales within two weeks.

Earthworks started in early March on the 47-residence building, by Cube Developments, which is expected to be completed by late 2027.

Cube director Scott Juniper said the early sales momentum reflected demand for well-located, premium apartments on the Sunshine Coast.

“Sixty per cent of the first release selling in the first two weeks is a very strong result and demonstrates the depth of demand in this market,” he said.

“We’ve had solid enquiry from both local buyers and interstate purchasers, particularly from Melbourne and Sydney, who are looking to secure quality property in established coastal locations.”

Lago, at 2 Prosperity Drive, comprises 30 three-bedroom and 17 two-bedroom apartments, positioned within walking distance of Lake Kawana, Bokarina Beach and the Birtinya Town Centre, anchored by the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Mr Juniper said the mix of employment security, lifestyle amenity and limited new supply continued to support buyer confidence in Birtinya.

“Buyers are responding to the combination of infrastructure, proximity to the hospital precinct and the broader lifestyle offering,” he said.

“It’s a location that continues to perform strongly, and that’s translating into early sales activity.”

A March 5 construction update stated that “momentum is building at Lago”.

“Construction is progressing well, with the site team having successfully completed the basement excavation, an important milestone in bringing this community to life.”

Apartment prices at Lago start from $1.15 million. Residents will have access to rooftop amenities including a pool, spa, barbecue area and sun lounge spaces.

Lago forms part of Cube Developments’ expanding Sunshine Coast portfolio, alongside completed and current projects including Nature at Cotton Tree, Oasis at Bokarina Beach and Lumeah Peregian.
