A senior constable from the North Coast Region has been stood down over an alleged assault committed on duty.
The 56-year-old man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The Queensland Police Service issued a media statement about the allegations on Monday.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” it said.
“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”
The North Coast Region comprises the Moreton, Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay Burnett districts.
