The Sunshine Coast will welcome its first LEGO Certified Store, with the globally recognised retail brand confirming a Maroochydore opening in the first quarter of 2026.

The LEGO Group, in partnership with Alquemie Group, has announced the custom-built store will span 216 square metres and marks a strategic expansion of LEGO’s retail footprint in Australia, bringing the Certified Store format to one of Queensland’s fastest-growing regions.

The store will open in a Maroochydore location.

Troy Taylor, vice president and general manager of LEGO Australia and New Zealand, said the Sunshine Coast store would become a destination for creativity and play.

“We’re thrilled to bring the LEGO Certified Store experience to the Sunshine Coast, creating a new hub for imagination and play, with exclusive LEGO sets and immersive experiences for fans of all ages,” Mr Taylor said.

Alquemie group managing director of licensed brands Matthew Robertson said the opening represented a major milestone for the region.

“Introducing the first LEGO Store to the Sunshine Coast is a milestone moment, inviting locals and visitors alike to build, rebuild and imagine without limits,” Mr Robertson said.

“This new store is perfectly aligned to our vision to deliver world-class retail experiences, as we seek to inspire creativity and celebrate the joy of building across generations.”
