Work on an over-50s community with 464 residents and 300 homes has been officially completed.

Ingenia Lifestyle has marked the end of development and the handover of the final new home at its Nature’s Edge facility in Forest Glen.

The existing community was acquired by Ingenia in 2021, which has since converted adjacent tourism accommodation to deliver 68 new homes.

Ingenia hosted a celebration at the $10 million clubhouse and wellness centre known as Nature’s Retreat to mark the milestone.

Head of development Queensland Adam Forrester said the completion of Nature’s Edge marked a proud chapter in Ingenia’s growth on the Sunshine Coast.

“Nature’s Edge represents the very best of what Ingenia strives to create – a place where residents can enjoy connection, wellbeing and a sense of belonging in a beautiful setting,” he said.

“It’s been a privilege to build upon the strong foundations of this community and deliver the final stages that bring everything together.”

Nature’s Retreat opened in June 2024 and offers amenities including a resort-style pool and spa, yoga and pilates space, gym and change rooms, sauna and hairdressing salon.

Ingenia worked with construction partners Ezibuild on the homes and McNab on Nature’s Retreat to bring the project vision to life.

John and Judy Tait have lived at Nature’s Edge for the past 32 years and said they treasured the  community and connection.

“We are the residents who have been here the longest and we love it,” Mrs Tait said.

“We have the rainforest on our doorstep and over the years have made a lot of friends. It’s changed a lot but definitely for the better. There are now two pools which we love to swim in, and some excellent facilities.

“We also love to take a walk through the community every day and do coffee mornings on a Thursday at Nature’s Retreat. It’s a fantastic place to live.”

Mr Forrester said the milestone was as much about the residents as it was about the project.

“It’s a community that truly reflects the heart of the Sunshine Coast. It is friendly, active and deeply connected to nature, and you can feel it from the moment you arrive,” he said.
