A man has been airlifted to hospital after a bobcat rolled over his leg.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight helicopter was tasked to a private property at Imbil at about 10.03am.

It landed on a road near the scene.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the man, aged in his 50s, for a serious leg injury.

He was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
