The site of one of Australia’s most recognisable waterfront restaurants has been listed for sale.

Sails Restaurant on Hastings Street in Noosa is widely known as one of the region’s most prestigious culinary experiences.

Run by renowned restauranteur Lyndon Simmons, Sails enjoys an absolute waterfront position with uninterrupted 180-degree views of Noosa’s Main Beach.

The business premises is being sold by CBRE’s Michael Hedger, Harrison Coburn and Louisa Blennerhassett.

“This investment opportunity has never been formally offered to market before and is only one of a few direct beachfront locations leased to a long-standing restaurateur who has occupied this location for over 30 years – a true trophy investment that will never be repeated,” Mr Hedger said.

“Noosa continues to outperform as a premium destination for local, national and international visitors, seeing over two million visitors annually and $1.4 billion in tourism spend, cementing its reputation as a top-tier location.”

The 460sqm property is secured by a long-term net lease with options extending through to 2045 and annual CPI rental increases.

“We expect to attract interest from both domestic and international high-net-worth buyers given the calibre of this investment offering, its rich history and tenant retention,” Mr Coburn said.

The restaurant’s website says Sails was established in 1994, with Paul Leete the head chef since 1997.

It was one of 19 local restaurants to score Chef Hats in the prestigious Australian Good Food Guide for 2025.

The expressions of interest campaign closes on October 30.
